MEtANOIA-HIRN-IMMACULATA IV | print on paper 300gr - edition of 5 | 26 x 19 | 1998

PATRICK FELDMANN is a german artist, born 1962
his main work is dealing with sculpture, but he spends also a lot of time in drawing & etching

the ETCHINGS series
is a selection from the artist's cycles
"Meer-ZORN:SchNEe" [1992]
"motus terra- teirea" [1994]
"noli me tangere" [1998]
& "MEtANOIA-HIRN-IMMACULATA" [1998]
both the earlier cycles are speaking to us in a pure symbolic language
the 1st studying upon a combination between head/body-horse/instrument-arm
& the 2nd working upon a subject of a goddess/rea? with an animal
in the later cycles of 1998
the artist becomes more abstract & somehow he escapes from the symbolism
"noli me tangere" is a strict study on the female nude as a hidden goddess
& "MEtANOIA-HIRN-IMMACULATA", the most abstract cycle
is a vivid incorporation of words into a sculptural theme that recalls the medical studies of the artist
