DIGITAL SPACES 051 | digital_art | 2008

NINA TODOROVIC is a serbian artist, born 1973
she is graduated from the faculty of fine arts, department of painting

the DIGITAL SPACES series of 2006-08
represents the result of several years long exploration of urban architecture
(a phenomenon of loneliness & absence of human beings inside the city)
through different art media & in this occasion in form of photography with inevitable digital manipulation
emphasizing & repeating of segments of architectural compositions
the feeling of alienation is intensified & ever present
material & tangible solitude is accentuated
multiplying the textures, purposefully imposing the new walls
all for the sake of some fictitious comfort, we are becoming more & more isolated & limited by our own irrational wishes
we are limiting not only the physical, but also the mental, emotional & intellectual space
the buildings are unexpectedly like ghosts that they are conquering this same space
& it doesn't matter anymore whether they are reality or imagination
what matters is that they are annulling the human presence & they are becoming self sufficient
