MARGRET SCHOPKA is a german artist, born 1943
she studied painting in Hamburg & she creates sculptures, land-art & digital photographies as well
the LICHTBILD.is series of 2007-08
is showing an extensive work-cycle, result of her studies during miscellaneous stipends & participations in symposia at Iceland
Margret installs acrylic-painted canvas-pieces upon digital landscape-photographies in a way that finally only a small part of the photo-motive remains visible:
mostly an infinitely far removed mountain-panorama, where the sky is stopped from the upper picture-edge

here she shapes her sensual impressions like a picturesque drama, very earthy & material
all forces of nature seem to reveal themselves:
