USCHI ECKBAUER is a german artist, born 1962
she is a painter & photographer & she says she is a “self made artist since 2001”

the DIVERGENCE series
shows the phenomenon of a simultaneous contrast about two different works-series & styles
the first sequence
shows concrete-constructive compositions: op-art
this kind of art finds its home in measurable orders, structures, borders, geometry
small & big demarcations give intensive, shining colours, a strong hold
here painting calms
the second sequence
shows spontaneous-emotional expression: informel
the borders are overlapped & broken
often they are radically destroyed
mixtures of broken pieces, breaks & coincidences are mastering the canvas
here painting moves
precision & clarity on the one side, playful joy & emotional expression on the other side
through their material form they are clearly separated of each other
by means of this confrontation, an ardent irreconcilability of intensive artistic inspiration reveals itself
this contradiction is respected by the artist herself expressly lighthearted
it's a visual adventure amid the incompatibility of the contrasts
the works seem to be born from this energetic-contrary dynamics & to inspire each other
maybe is this disclosure of inconsistency a secret intent of the artist?
